The Band

Michael Lindo

Hailing from Tampa, FL originally, Michael fell in love with the guitar and music at the age of 14. It wasn’t until the sunset of his first band, Studio Merchants, that he would meet Ben Kennett and begin a new musical journey. With Michael’s brother Lorenzo on bass to round out their group they titled themselves simply “MBL Trio” and had a solid run entertaining the Tampa Bay area and growing in their craft up until graduating high school. Upon graduation he would move to Boston to attend Berklee College of Music. It was there that he really honed his craft in all things music from guitar playing, singing and learning the ins and outs of the music business. After graduating he went on to front New England event band “Cover Story”further honing his abilities as a singer and frontman. Feeling creatively starved after 6 years in Boston, he decided to make the jump to Music City itself at the end of 2018. He reunited with his long time friend Ben Kennett and they immediately began writing, recording and planning out what would become Modern. The Aesthetic.

Corey England

The bass guitar found Corey at age 12 and has never let him go. A native son of Clarksville, TN, he initially started feeding the beast of his musical aspiration through multiple high school symphonic and jazz bands and played in a multitude of local rock bands in a variety of genres including Metalcore, Mainstream Rock, Nu-metal, and Christian Rock. After graduating he briefly attended APSU for Music Education and Percussion Performance but felt the call to move to Nashville to pursue a career as a working musician. Since moving and firmly establishing himself in the Nashville scene he has played in wide variety groups and genres from Country and Pop to Classic Rock and 2000’s Emo/ Alternative. He teamed up with Michael, Ben and Meghan to form Modern. The Aesthetic in October 2019 with the desire to be a creative mind in a new original project. His metal band roots bring a driving energy to this new breed of alternative, balanced by a smooth, refined groove on their softer side polished by the teachings of lighter genres from his working gigs. Aside from his duties in M.TA he continues to work in the Nashville scene as you can regularly find him playing Emo night with local emo punk band, The Quiet Things, or exploring his metal roots further in melodic heavy metal outfit, Archeons.

Meghan Garrison

Meghan is a native Nashvillian who grew up listening to and loving all types of music. Growing up in Franklin, TN she felt that first spark to pursue music when her high school choir teacher and mentor pushed her to try out for the school talent show, Artist Guild. Doing that would lead her to falling in love with music and performing. Though initially a classically trained pianist, she continues to expand her musical knowledge of genre and style experimenting in the worlds of pop, rock and R&B soul. Aside from her chops on the keys she is an accomplished singer with her biggest vocal inspirations biggest vocal inspirations being Alicia Keys, Ariana Grande, and Whitney Houston. From 2016-2020 she attended Belmont University, fully immersing herself in the music world honing her songwriting ability and studying the music business. She joined with Michael, Ben, and Corey to form Modern. The Aesthetic in the summer of 2019, using her voice and keys to fully round out the band. When not being the glue that holds the bands sound together she continues to work as a singer-songwriter releasing her debut EP “Broken Record” back in 2018.

Ben Kennett

Ben’s ultimate goal as a drummer is to be a swiss army knife. Since picking up the sticks around age 12 he has studied all different styles of music with the purpose of being able to seamlessly blend in to any style from soft bossa and swing jazz to smooth R&B and hard hitting rock. Coming from a military family the eventually settled in Tampa, FL where he formed “MBL Trio” with Michael and his brother Lorenzo in 2011 during their formative high school years. Post graduation Ben went on to cut his teeth in Florida playing for a variety of different rock, latin, funk, r&b, reggae, and psychedelic bands in the Tampa bay area. In the Summer of 2017, Ben decided to take his musical aspirations to the next level and was accepted to attend Blackbird Academy in Nashville, TN. He made the jump over to Music City in early 2018 to fully immerse himself in the world of audio engineering and production. He would hone his skills producing for other local artists and experimenting with sounds and beats while also working on his own material in the world of experimental hip hop. He reunited with Michael upon his arrival to Nashville later that year to start setting the foundation for Modern. The Aesthetic.
